Google Wallet The Digital Twist of the Future

Last month, Google announced the launching of yet another item, Google Wallet, a Android program which will enable users to use their phone for a charge card. This is carried out simply by tapping on your telephone on any participating merchant’s MasterCard PayPass digital reader, so it sends payment to the retailer. This digital wallet will eventually enable you to save all your current debit or charge cards on your mobile phone. But when Google originally launches their digital wallet, users will simply have the ability to use their own Citi MasterCards or even Google’s Prepaid Card. Along with this, the digital wallet will also have the ability to keep your loyalty cards from almost any engaging SingleTap retailers. This may greatly diminish the frustration of carrying numerous loyalty cards in your pocket, but also help expand the amount of customers using loyalty cards. Upon scanning in my address, a listing of local merchants popped up, but much to my dismay, just 7 , CVS, along with other arbitrary retailers I would not even use after a month popped up near my place.

The safety placed with this digital wallet involves a PIN that has to be entered prior to making a purchase and also a safe payment processor comprising encrypted payment info. While the safety of the electronic wallet might be complex, there are still a few disadvantages to its usage: In case your phone is stolen or lost, you still need to cancel your cards that the old conventional fashioned manner. Furthermore, if you are a college student like me, or even a continuous public transport user, you will still have to carry around your ID or transport card.

What Google’s Wallet should improve on is it is security. Even the PIN input is vital, but Google should add something special that just the sole owner of this digital wallet has, like: a fingerprint, voiceprint, or an image that appears if the consumer makes a purchase. Adding in the next defense wall not just makes identity theft almost impossible, but provides users one more thing to be concerned about when using the digital wallet. Besides this extra safety, Google should focus on working together with universities and significant city’s public transport systems to include student’s university ID’s along with public transport cards for their cellular wallet. This progress in technology has the capacity to end the age of their pocket, allowing consumers to have practically every type of card which they would ever want from the palm of the hands.
